In the 1975 Pan Am games in Mexico City we had blood in the water and the locker room after our win over Cuba.
I was blindsided with several closed fist punches by Jorge Rizo who I was guarding and he split my skin near the eye. He was given a brutality foul and missed the next game. Eric Lindroth and Harpo were attacked in the locker room as they were taking showers.
Cuba and the USA always had tough games but this was one was extreme.
